Cool Air + Moving Air = Effective Temperature Calculations

Air movement on individual workers makes a big impact on cooling effect

Effective Temperatures:

Effective temperature is influenced by several factors, among these are:

*Air Temperature

*Air Moisture level

*Air Movement.

For example if our scenario is a warehouse in Phoenix:

Outside:  108ºF and 13% relative humidity

Ventilation System assume an air movement of 50 feet per minute (fpm)

Effective temperature =  84ºF

Direct Portable Evaporative Cooler

Supply Air Temperature =  78ºF

Effective Temperature =  71.5ºF at 200 fpm

Effective Temperature =  68.5ºF at 500 fpm
